NAME Bencher::Scenario::BinarySearch::File - Benchmark binary searching sorted lines from a file VERSION This document describes version 0.001 of Bencher::Scenario::BinarySearch::File (from Perl distribution Bencher-Scenario-BinarySearch-File), released on 2021-04-21. SYNOPSIS To run benchmark with default option: % bencher -m BinarySearch::File To run module startup overhead benchmark: % bencher --module-startup -m BinarySearch::File For more options (dump scenario, list/include/exclude/add participants, list/include/exclude/add datasets, etc), see bencher or run "bencher --help". DESCRIPTION Packaging a benchmark script as a Bencher scenario makes it convenient to include/exclude/add participants/datasets (either via CLI or Perl code), send the result to a central repository, among others . See Bencher and bencher (CLI) for more details. BENCHMARKED MODULES Version numbers shown below are the versions used when running the sample benchmark. File::SortedSeek 0.015 BENCHMARK PARTICIPANTS * File::SortedSeek-1k-num (perl_code) Code template: File::SortedSeek::numeric($Bencher::Scenario::BinarySearch::File::fh_1k_num , int ( 1_000*rand())) * File::SortedSeek-10k-num (perl_code) Code template: File::SortedSeek::numeric($Bencher::Scenario::BinarySearch::File::fh_10k_num , int( 10_000*rand())) * File::SortedSeek-100k-num (perl_code) Code template: File::SortedSeek::numeric($Bencher::Scenario::BinarySearch::File::fh_100k_num, int( 100_000*rand())) * File::SortedSeek-1m-num (perl_code) Code template: File::SortedSeek::numeric($Bencher::Scenario::BinarySearch::File::fh_1m_num , int( 1_000_000*rand())) * File::SortedSeek-10m-num (perl_code) Code template: File::SortedSeek::numeric($Bencher::Scenario::BinarySearch::File::fh_10m_num , int( 10_000_000*rand())) * File::SortedSeek-100m-num (perl_code) Code template: File::SortedSeek::numeric($Bencher::Scenario::BinarySearch::File::fh_100m_num, int(100_000_000*rand())) SAMPLE BENCHMARK RESULTS Run on: perl: *v5.30.0*, CPU: *Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz (2 cores)*, OS: *GNU/Linux Ubuntu version 20.04*, OS kernel: *Linux version 5.3.0-64-generic*.
